Carly Simon es una compositora e intérprete con una extraordinaria carrera musical que incluye algunas bandas sonoras para el cine.
Hija de una familia acomodada de NY comenzó su carrera como parte de un dúo con su hermana Lucy. No sería hasta 1971 cuando comenzaría su carrera en solitario.
Simon se casó con el cantante y compositor James Taylor en 1972. Su primera participación importante en el cine vendría en 1977, con la canción «Nobody Does It Better», para la película de James Bond ‘La espía que me amó’ (‘The Spy Who Loved Me’), logrando un notable reconocimiento.
En 1986 escribió las canciones para la banda sonora de la película, ‘Se acabó el pastel’ (Heartburn) Película donde los protagonistas eran Meryl Streep y Jack Nicholson. Su tema principal; «Coming Around Again», fue todo un éxito, y sin duda es una extraordinaria canción. En 1988 volvería a escribir para el cine con la banda sonora de la película; ‘Armas de mujer’ y su tema destacado; «Let the River Run». Canción que le valdría un Óscar de la Academia de Hollywood. En 1992 escribió la banda sonora para el film; ‘Esta es mi vida’ (This is My Life).
