Dick Powell

Dick Powell fue un actor singular. Comenzó de galán trabajando en musicales e interpretando canciones con ese aspecto de muchacho guapo y bueno, Luego se convirtió en un ‘rufián’ en películas de corte dramático.
Siendo muy joven tuvo la oportunidad de ingresar en el mundo del espectáculo como cantante (tenor) y tocando el banjo con la Royal Peacock Orchestra en Louisville, Kentucky. Sería en ‘Grata compañía’ (1932), donde daría comienzo su carrera como actor e intérprete de cine.
Seguirían musicales tan conocidos como ‘La calle 42’ (1933), ‘Vampiresas 1933’ (1933, ‘Desfile de candilejas’ (1933) y un largo etc. Hasta que finalmente a principios de los años cuarenta abandonaría su lado musical para hacer otro tipo de películas.
Una vez dijo; «Sabía que no era el mejor cantante del mundo y no veía ninguna razón por la cual un actor debería limitarse a una fase particular del cine».
