Nelson Eddy
Estados Unidos (1901 - 1967)
Fue un cantante, barítono y actor que trabajó en musicales durante las décadas treinta y cuarenta, así como en la ópera, conciertos, radio, TV etc. Especialmente es recordado por trabajar en ocho películas con la soprano Jeanette MacDonald.
Durante sus 40 años de carrera, obtuvo tres estrellas en el Paseo de la Fama de Hollywood (una para cine, grabación y radio), consiguiendo tres discos de oro en su carrera.
Venía de una familia musical. Su madre era solista de iglesia, y su abuela era una distinguida cantante de oratorio. Su padre ocasionalmente trabajaba como actor de teatro en la Ópera de Providence. Además, cantaba en el coro de la iglesia, tocaba la batería y actuaba en producciones locales como H.M.S. Delantal. No era de extrañar que Nelson Eddy tuviera inclinaciones a la música e interpretación llegando a ser uno de los ‘galanes’ más importante de la primera época del cine.
