Arthur Freed
Estados Unidos (1894 - 1973)
Arthur Freed desarrolló su carrera en la época de oro de Broadway y más tarde en el cine de Hollywood, escribiendo canciones para musicales y produciendo películas.
Después de graduarse de la escuela secundaria, trabajó como pianista y compositor de canciones para un editor de música de Chicago, donde conoció a los Hermanos Marx y así se unió a ellos para recorrer el circuito de vodevil. Más tarde también escribiría para el mundo del cabaret. Ya en Los Ángeles, mientras dirigía un teatro y hacía canciones fue contratado por MGM como letrista de sus musicales.
Su muestrario de estupendas canciones, como autor de sus letras, forma ya parte de la historia de la música. Canciones que hizo en su mayoría con Nacio Herb Brown. Entre ellas temas como;

Ya en los años 30 comenzó a escribir musicales, así como su la producción de películas. Su contribución al séptimo arte fue más allá al acercar al cine talentos de Broadway como

Un hombre del que se dice que era un placer trabajar con él. Valoraba y respetaba el trabajo de los profesionales dejando a su creatividad partes importantes de un musical, una coreografía o su libreto. Una carrera digna de un personaje destacado por su papel en la historia de la música y el cine.
